Trailer Spotlight


The Holiday Junkie trailer catches the attention of many right from the start due to its unique animation style. It starts with carolers singing in the background, followed by colorful Christmas decorations placed in a quaint town. The next segment of the trailer centers on Andie (portrayed by Jennifer Love Hewitt) and her struggle to garner the resources needed to deliver the perfect Christmas to her clients, implying that she indeed cares a lot about Christmas. But the montage takes a serious turn as Andie starts reflecting on the past and her mother’s untimely demise which had major impact it seemed. But Andie’s battle to defend herself from the return of her mother’s ghost is compelling, and the trailer does promise some lighthearted and comedic bits featuring her and Mason (Brian Hallisay) as well, who is a grumpy yet loveable house manager looking to spoil her fun. With a soft smile on our faces, the teaser concludes with a decent amount of magic that made us believe in vagaries of Christmas as snowflakes flirt down.

Captivating Synopsis


In The Holiday Junkie, Andie is a woman for whom Christmas has been central to her existence together with her mother Mimi. After their mother’s passing, Andie is thrust into a Christmas such as she’s never witnessed – and one that is filled only with pain. Comforted by the knowledge of what her mother would have wanted, Andie sets out to make the best of the festive season and in the process decorate a mansion from top to bottom. Though not particularly fond of decorating the house, Mason the house manager is tireless in making preparations. Mason who has seen a lot in life is regretful and demoralised even and reluctant to embrace Christmas, and still does everything in his power to obstinately make things harder for Andie. But Andie and Mason begin to bond as they spend time together, not only finding themselves arguing constantly but also seeking out humour in even the most mundane activities.

Andie during her time in the story realises the importance of Christmas and Mason too through her inspires the message of love that Christmas brings about amongst everyone. Both Andie and Mason go through the narrative together, with a focus on happiness and also healing. In her gradually rediscovering the true meaning of Christmas, Andie spends time bringing out a whole new side of Mason. It’s safe to say that love is without a doubt the greatest gift of all. And if there’s a wrapping that Love is wrapped around then it certainly is strongest family ties. The Holiday Junkie is a great end to the family trilogy as it starts off beautifully depicting how memories are to be cherished.
