She wants to motivate others by showing that with persistence and confidence in yourself, anything can be achieved.
Anya’s hopes begin to fade when she realizes that one of her lead sled dogs sustains an injury just a few weeks before the race, eliminating her chances for competing. This is when Cole Mirchoff enters the scene as a spectator. He is a journalist that has been called in to report on the race. At that moment, she realizes she needs to take everything possible to win. This is where everything begins to unravel. The two slowly build emotions and love for one another which causes Cole to realize his passion for the sport again.
But winning won’t be straightforward. Monty (Magnus Sundqvist), Anya’s father’s long-standing opponent, came back to the competition determined to take the title. Cole and Anya must in addition face the complaints of the harsh Arctic landscape, the changeable climate and their self-doubts, making the exploration not an only physical but also a psychological excursion.
Character’s humor and drama is provided by Elyse (Nichole Sakura), Anya’s loyal friend analyzing the event, and Lavi (Benedikt Gröndal), the Finnish cousin of Anya, who is strange and funny. Strong Elyse’s conviction, that Anya is able to win, and Lavi’s knowledge of the region, build up the story in a constructive way.
The picture features Anya struggling to win forth with the other contestants. This was filmed against the picturesque backdrops of Rovaniemi and Kakslauttanen strengthened by Anya’s determination to win.
