Love in the End (original title: “Η Αγάπη Έρχεται Στο Τέλος”) is a romantic Greek drama film released in 2013 and directed by Vasilis Kehagias. The words of the film idea that love is multifaceted can be reflected in the three short stories that combine the events of real life and the creativity of the filmmakers. The film takes on a climatic tone as it goes from feeling optimistic to sad and then returning to happiness, detailing relationships that people everywhere can identify with, in terms of its core themes of love, intimacy, and fate.

As we enter the first act, we come across a lovely young woman making a family trip across the mesmerizing Aegean Sea. On the same ship she meets the ship’s lieutenant, a handsome butPpreoccupied chap for he has his own problems to deal with. The two get along very well considering the circumstances of azure seas, and radiant sunblasted ceilings. Nevertheless, the young woman faces the most difficult decision of her life- for she is disembarking the ship in Istanbul, a task which for her is very painful. This means she can no longer give her hand in marriage. So she has to make a choice. Does she forsake her family and pursue this man of her desire or does she lose the love forever?

The other story paints the current maze of virtual relationships. This left the adolescents voice disrupted for a long time, creating and shyness teenage boy loved his friend so much but never got to verbal stage with her which sparked endeared her attention. In a rash moment he makes a false account to indirectly tell her how much he loves her. What starts as an innocent gamble soon leads to piles of over reaction and web of lies when the relationship gets into the phase where the deceit holds power over their inter relations.

Our last destination is Thessaloniki and this is how two strangers spent a remarkable evening thanks to chance. But before anything could happen, a robbed cell phone takes them apart, and together they must endure the dilemmas of a heartless metropolis. So, how exactly will they return one another’s grace, or would this just be a passing folie?

Who knew Georgina Liossi, Leonidas Kalfagiannis, Katerina Geronikolou and Panos Vlahos alongside other actors made this film a must-watch thanks to their extraordinary level of character’s representation, passion and sincerity. While this story was set in Greece which involved some jaw dropping views and buildings that could be seen looking through islands or cities that were captured through the lens of the camera, it was the music that added taste to this entire film, making every story’s turning point saddening and beautiful at the same time.

Love in the End, as the title suggests emphasizes on love’s ability to uplift and bring drastic alterations in a person’s life for the better without warning. Be it through pure luck, an unexpected decision, or courageousness, the characters portray how no matter the circumstances, love prevails.
