A high-octane French action-comedy, Belleville Cop (original title: Le Flic de Belleville) is a wild ride through the streets of Paris and Miami, combining humor, action, and a touch of heartfelt drama. Directed by Rachid Bouchareb, the film stars Omar Sy, known for his charismatic roles in The Intouchables and Lupin, as an unconventional cop caught in a dangerous international investigation.

Omar Sy plays Baaba leita who is a quite and easygoing policeman from Belleville, a Parisian hub with a rich combination of people and just the right degree of pandemonium. But when Roland, a friend from his childhood is shot dead in front of him he feels disturbed. The investigation takes Baaba to Miami where he has no option but to work with harsh local detective, Ricardo Garcia (Luis Guzmán’s character).

In a place which he is not familiar with Baaba creates a great mess, but he uses his instincts and humor to survive Miami’s criminal scene. Belleville Cop has plenty of entertaining and useful things from high speed car chases to melting caramels directed against cultural differences all tied into an endearing adulation of friendship and the the call of justice.
