In this Brisith movie christened “Wicked Little Letters”. Thea Sharrock takes up directorial duty while Olivia Colman and Jessie Buckley grace it with their acting feats. Set in 1920’s England, this movie revolved around the mystery of obscene letters that a small seaside town received. The plot follows the life of a devout Christian Edith Swan, portrayed by Colman, and a zealous Irish woman Rose Gooding, played by Buckley. With these two neighbours as the main characters, the movie focuses on solving the mystery of the awkward letters.

The big wigs of the industry come together to make this ensemble cast truly impeccable:

Olivia Colman as Edith Swan- This devout woman gets tangled in a controversy and all of her life gets changed.

Jessie Buckley as Rose Gooding- This prominent suspect is a spirited Irish immigrant, the one behind the entire letter writing might be her.

Anjana Vasan as Gladys Moss- Determined to find out the whole ordeal is a very sharp Police officer.

Timothy Spall as Edward Swan- Controlling father figure to Edith.

Gemma Jones as Victoria Swan- Soft spoken mother of Edith.

Joanna Scanlan as Ann- A new resident in the town who gets caught up in the events taking place.

The British’s quest for women suffrage serves as the setting for the movie that weaves a comical story alongside a plot set “against repressive notions, injustice and this meticulous Untangling”. The story begins from the point where the women of the town led by Officer Gladys Moss try to uncover the identity of the author who sent them scandalous letters, which provided an impetus to contest the man’s world they inhabited.
